“Bangun Lagi Dong Lupus” tells a story of friendship wrapped in a romantic tale between its main characters. It begins with Lupus transferring to Merah Putih High School and meeting Poppy. A forbidden love soon blossoms between them. Both Lupus and Poppy like each other—even though Poppy already has a boyfriend, Daniel. Lupus continues to fight for this complicated love triangle. Along the way, Lupus meets his quirky new friends. There’s Gusur, a wacky artist who dreams of building a very simple house for his grandfather, who has been living with his brother-in-law all this time.
 Then there’s Boim, a womanizer from Duren Tiga, constantly being chased by debt collectors because his mother borrowed money to start a fabric business.
 And Anto, a gadget maniac with a ton of futuristic dreams, most of them revolving around online gaming. Conflict arises between Daniel and Lupus as they both compete for Poppy’s heart—an emotional battle between the old and the new boyfriend. Meanwhile, Lupus often helps Poppy with various assignments given by the principal. Other tensions also appear among the group of friends: Gusur has issues with the food stall owner he owes money to, Boim with his relentless debt collectors, and Anto with his big idea of conducting environmental research (Eco Green). Poppy finds herself torn—should she choose Lupus or stay with Daniel? Meanwhile, Lupus wins a cash prize and a scholarship to study abroad, thanks to his successful Eco Green research project. Now he must decide: should he leave Poppy and pursue the scholarship, or stay and wait for her answer? Lupus eventually uses the prize money from his research to help his friends—like Gusur, who wants to buy a house for his grandfather and pay off his debts.
